Questions Recreation Practitioners are Asking (part 1)

Source: The 2017 LIN Survey
(not in any priority order)
  • Spaces and places: Leisure planning - how do we successfully plan for community leisure?
  • How do you encourage a community/province to get moving and do some exercise and adopt a healthy life style?
  • I am frequently searching for examples of other policies, plans and strategies to compare with
  • Are people with disabilities recreation/leisure needs being met?
  • Are there any municipalities - ideally in Ontario or Canada, but elsewhere if not - that fully fund parks and recreation services from the tax base - and so deem them an essential service? If yes, how are they financed?
  • As a retired professional and part-time consultant, I am interested in knowing about new directions in the sector, especially where recreation professionals can use external resources to help develop effective responses to those changes.
  • Best business plan format for not for profit organization?
  • Best way to communicate information to get people to engage in physical activity
  • Different delivery systems and governance models within municipal recreation departments.
  • Easier evaluation processes.
  • How are we going to replace aging recreational infrastructure when we struggle to maintain what we currently have?
