"Know the North" Team Checking In
Know the North
HELLO WORLD! Greetings from Ennadai Lake, Nunavut! We have stumbled across the most gorgeous Eco Lodge of all time, and glorious glorious internet! From here we paddle past the tree line -- about 10 km from here we will reach tundra. We are on day 20 of paddling and the North has provided us with endless challenges: headwinds, rain, brown bears, wolves, rain, bush crashing for one week non-stop (paddling 3km at most at a time), rain, tracking unpstream on the mighty Little Partridge River (more like Little Partridge Rock Garden), rain, freezing temperatures every day, and also lots of rain. Also we had to burn our guitar after its tragic destruction. Despite these challenges, the rewards have been incredible. This photo is from a breathtakingly beautiful esker portage overlooking the Little Partridge, the Kazan River rewarded us with very fun white water and current which pushed us along at almost 10 km per hour. We are healthy and happy and in awe of this country.
